"Gretel & Hansel" is as visually arresting as it is tedious, a 90-minute movie that really should have been a three-minute music video for Marilyn Manson or Ozzy Osbourne.

In "Gretel & Hansel" Gretel was the older sister and, for the most part, caretaker of Hansel. While wandering the woods in a state of near starvation they found the witch's house. The witch was a child eater, but she only wanted to eat Hansel and not Gretel. In Gretel she saw power and wanted to help her cultivate that power. Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (Tommy Wirkola, 2013) 5/10. Hansel & Gretel (of Gingerbread House fame) grow up to become witty witch hunters in a medieval land crawling with those critters. The plot has great camp possibilities but ends up being an obvious effects laden bloodbath. The two leads are good and Famke Janssen makes a good sexy villain. Gretel & Hansel (2020) – Film Review.
